  • The Utopia team’s background in music production, recording and mixing allows us to develop bespoke creative concepts beyond the existing recordings, specifically for live.

    Anything you can imagine for your show, we can make it happen.

  • We understand the importance of showing up to rehearsal prepared, and utilize a series of pre-rehearsal arrangement and programming sessions in-studio, ensuring the artist and music director have the opportunity to brainstorm, produce, and arrange concepts in advance.

    This ensures that rehearsal time and budget can be focused on rehearsing, and allows for early and effective communication between music direction and creative teams.

  • We endorse and embrace early stage communication between music direction and creative teams to broaden the possibilities for creative vision.

    We believe that when Music Direction can integrate with Creative Direction (Lighting, Visual, Stage Design, Choreography, Creative Show Direction) early in the show development process, opportunities arise for impactful choices that otherwise may get lost when this collaboration is delayed.

  • Utopia’s industry leading show programming methods utilize a robust, dynamic, and future-proof system for building Ableton playback sessions.

    This system is designed to allow the artist and music director to test and implement new ideas in real time, and incorporates in-depth mixing and mastering into the programming process.

    This ensures that audio from playback sounds impeccable, and that arrangement sessions and rehearsals can flow smoothly without interruption in the creative process.

  • Utopia’s music directors have A-level experience with the technical side of show development: Playback Engineering, Front-of-House and Monitor mixing, Stage and Production Management etc.

    This ensures that your show will be operating at the highest technical level, regardless of venue or tour size.

  • We believe that professional Music Direction should be avaliable to all performing artists, and offer bespoke, tailored show development strategies to artists of all sizes based on venue, budget, and vision.

    Each year Utopia takes on new up and coming artists while maintaining our existing roster, and has helped many up and coming artists deliver outsized and impactful shows in a range of small to mid size venues.
